Checkfall - chess roguelike

Lead the last royal banner up a branching campaign, and after every victory a fairy weaves a power onto one of your pieces: a pawn that strikes twice, a bishop that fires arcane bolts, a rook that steps like a knight. Stack enchantments and your army becomes something the usurpers never trained for. Inspired by Balatro and Slay the Spire. Combo-driven, run-based, and unforgiving. Stalemates, repetition, and running out of moves all count as defeats. Only the killing blow counts.

This build:

  • A full run — branching map, battles, elites, glades (shops), mysteries, two bosses
  • 25 enchantments, 10 relics, seeded runs, profiles, a collection and lifetime stats
  • Four difficulties, from a gentle Page's march to a ruthless Kingslayer

This is an early demo, in active development and feedback is exactly what I'm after. Tell me what felt too hard, too easy, or confusing in the comments below.
